She has seen some action. Possibly the most beautiful patina I have ever seen on a bass, its sublime!

The current owner has owned the bass since 2006 who bought it for an audition (and got the gig) and it’s been toured around the world including the US, Russia, Japan, Europe, UK etc…

It was regularly flipped over and used as the dressing room ironing board. Back in the days when basses were just tools!

A previous owner added the jazz bass pickup (and small control on the pickguard) so that was removed and filled / painted by Angela Arnott of 42nd Street Guitars. I think you’ll agree she did an amazing job. The tuners also weren’t original but now has a set of reverse wound Tokai ones that have done the job ever since. I do have a set of period correct original tuners from a ‘64 Precision if the new owner would like to purchase those instead. Other than that it’s all stock.

Interestingly, if you look at the neck from the 1st to the 3rd fret you’ll see it’s tapered. The owner never noticed it until a set-up guy mentioned it. We’ve have black-lit it and there’s no sign of it being altered so it looks like it came out of the factory like that. Maybe a custom request to have a narrower nut? Who knows! Maybe just a Friday afternoon job? This was 1965 after all…

Comes with original case and covers

Weight 3.58kg

More pics coming soon…..
