A stunning and pretty rare 1968 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass in Fireglo finish. This is the pre stereo version.
The Rickenbacker 4001 is a landmark in design to many bass players that appreciates vintage gear. To say many famous players used them just think of Paul McCartney, Chris Squire & Geddy Lee to name a few. Its fabulous “Checkerboard” bound top border is so deco and very cool. Its “Crushed Pearl” triangular fingerboard inlays are so Ricky ! It has both its original “Toaster” rhythm & “Horseshoe” bridge pickups that sound superb. Pot codes that date to 1968. Its serial number dates it to 1968. Comes with the factory Kluson tuners, its white single layer pickgard & chrome capped black nobs.
This one is pretty much 100% original, a small bit of new wiring only, includes the original hardcase ( looks like part of the silver has been painted red), although it has seen better days so a newer Gator case is also included.
Weight 4.3KG
