Acoustic bass players know the challenges of amplifying an upright bass. Every room responds differently, and the instrument’s resonant body can make unwanted feedback a constant battle. The Stanley Clarke preamp puts the control back in your hands.

Developed in collaboration with bass legend Stanley Clarke, this two-channel preamp combines analog circuitry, carefully voiced filters, notch and high-pass filters, high-impedance inputs, and flexible routing to reproduce your instrument’s character faithfully. This makes it a trusted centerpiece in upright bass rigs around the world.

Blend the sound of an external microphone with your pickup, or use the two channels for seamless A/B switching between instruments. The external mic input provides +48V Phantom Power when needed.

The balanced DI output sends your mix to the front-of-house or a recording device.

Just like the EBS MicroBass 3, it converts a standard 9 V DC supply into internal ±15 V operating rails, providing ample headroom to capture the full dynamics and nuance of your instrument.

Can I use it with electric bass?

Absolutely. While designed with upright bass in mind, the Stanley Clarke Signature Preamp also works exceptionally well with electric basses. The two channels provide the same powerful filter section, making it easy to optimize the sound of two different instruments and switch seamlessly between them during a performance.
